About Kimberly Tilton

Kimberly decided to pursue a career in education because of her goal to serve her community and society.  She began her career by teaching fifth-grade in Alexandria, Egypt. After receiving her credentials in 1997, Kimberly began teaching fourth grade in Encinitas for seven years,  took a leave to be a stay-at-home parent, then returned to education in 2013 as a tutor, K-6 Music Consultant, and most recently an Education Specialist (mild/moderate). A native San Diegan, Kimberly now lives in Encinitas with her amazing son, Miles, who is now in high school.

Kimberly is highly skilled in adapting lessons to meet the needs of individual learners. Through her use of stories and by providing relevance, Kimberly is able to elicit interest in all subject areas.  Whether you are in need of support in school (general or special education), are pursuing English as a second language (ESL), or need an advocate for a child entering or already receiving special education services, Kimberly is able to accommodate your needs.
